My K.O.S Reflection

We finished K.O.S and I needed to do reflection on a few things. When we first started K.O.S I was really scared because I wasn't aware that we would get into pretty serious stuff. We learnt about what to do when someone you don't know comes to pick you up. (Comment what you would do down below) I got a lot more confident when we got deeper into it because I knew a lot more then I knew when we started. I hope you enjoyed!

Maths Working Out

Today I decided to do some maths because I don't do a lot of maths on my blog. I'm just going to do some working out and show you guys how I normally work out my maths.

12+67=?

So you take the 10 and the 60 then take the 2 and 7 which adds so...

60+10=70 & 2+7=9 so 70+9=79 (Comment if you these are right!)

86+39=?

80+30=110   6+9=15  110+15=125

64+47=
60+40=100 4+7=11 100+11=111

132+85=
30+80=110 2+5=7 110+7(+100)= 217

217+93=
10+90=100 3+7=10 100+10(+200)=310

Subtraction

47-29=
47-20=27-7=20 but we still need to take off nine so-2=18

The Time I almost thought I would Die

I was going to my friends house on the other side of my street. I was going with my brother and my friend that was taking us to their house.

I was walking straight across the road and my brother decided he was going diagonally. Bang! We banged into each other and I tripped over him. Yes I did fall into the middle of the road and it really hurt. Now my legs really did hurt so I didn’t want to get up.

But I hear my brother going “KATELYN GET UP! I looked up and saw a car coming. I got up fast and ran quickly to my house. My mum cleaned up my blood and I stay inside for the rest of the day.

Now I was suppose to do this ages ago but I finally remembered to do it and her it is..MY TONGAN SLIDE!!

Emoji Sewing

Lately for a few weeks I have been doing Emoji Sewing. A mix of people from room 11 and 12 have bee doing it too.

I decided to start with the white dots in the eyes.

Once I completed both of them. I went on to the eyes.

I added on some checks, I really wanted pink cheeks but I releized quite a few people had the same idea and had already sewn them on so I changed it to red.

And finally I was ready to sew on the mouth. I wanted it to be extra cute so I went with a small black circle.

So I had finished and got the back of my emoji and as you can see started stitching it on!

Today I did a Google drawing of my fractions to help explain and post on my blog. So here it is I hope you all like it I tried my best.

Cross Country

On the 24th of August we did Cross Country we are doing a reflection on it. I am with my partner Ben we are going to reflect on it together.

Me and Ben are both year six's so we were last to run it was stressing and tiring. We watched all the people in the school run. It was exciting. We all wanted to achieve our goals me and Ben achieved our goals. Ben's goal was to do his best. My goal was to do the whole thing with a growth mind set. Bens shoes were killing his feet.

My Art Reflection

In our art exhibition I have decided to do wood carving and I am going to do a reflection on that so here it is.

So this is what we where aiming for something called "Kowhaiwhai Patterns" from Maori origin. So first of we had to sketch what we wanted it to look like.

This is my sketch and after we had to turn it into a stencil.

We had to get a plank of wood and use our stencil to make the pattern. I started painting and here are my results I haven't finished it yet but when I do I will show you guys.

The Ore

The Ore

In the middle of the night a girl named Maya woke up because there was a shining light coming from the window. Maya got out of her bed and tip toed to the window the floor squeaking behind her. Between the curtains was a little crack the light shining through it. Maya opened her bedroom door the light trying to escape her room the floor was made of old planks. "I'm surprised it holds the house together." Thought Maya. Maya was able to get to the outside door with the light of the ore. Maya slid the door open the ore as bright as the sun but at the same time it didn't blind her. Suddenly the ore stopped shining as if it was afraid. Now Maya was afraid to touch it she noticed that the shining blue ball had a spot of purple now this was strange. Maya wanted to pick the ore up desperately but knew if she made one wrong move. So she pointed one finger at the ore the finger touched it suddenly....

My Genius Hour

My Vist To Peahgrove

On Thursday we went to Peachgrove to see a play about Kaitiakitanga meaning Guardians of Aotearoa. We went by bus and had to run into the hall because it was raining. We got into lines and we went in rows to take our seats. The seats were nice and sturdy.

We took a seat and were excitedly wanting to see the year six’s that had left our school.

Violet The Dog

One day on a cold and stormy evening a little husky dog was walking around the streets cold and hungry.
The husky had gone searching around the garbage in search for food a little girl who was taking out the rubbish saw the husky and took it inside.
"GET THAT FILTHY THING OUT OF THIS HOUSE!"yelled the little girls mother.
"But she's hungry and cold.."
"WELL..I suppose..Give her a shower then feed her that chicken we have."
"Yes mum!"
The little girl gave the husky a bath then gave it some food and named it Violet.
Violet was in the back garden and went out the gate.The little girl had not given Violet a collar.
Then the pound came zooming by and saw Violet and caught her.
"Your coming with us." said the pound keeper.
Suddenly the little girl came out.
"HEY THAT'S MY DOG!"
"Then wheres its collar?"
"I'll get one for her now give here back!"
"Alright miss here ya go."
"Violet!"
They hugged and Violet never got taken away again.

My 6 Sentence Story

Today we did 6 sentence story's here is one I did.

1. Once upon a time...There was a girl named Jessica.
2. She lived in a little cottage in the forest.
3. She loved to dance ballet in the middle of the forest it was her favorite activity to do.
4. Unfortunately she was learning to spin and fell on a big rock which broke her leg.
5. She felt disappointed and upset because she couldn't dance anymore and had to go to hospital.
6. But...She was able to get a big cast and practiced with her cast. (Carefully)
